This year’s Autumn Leaf Festival will be October 7th from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. This is a celebration of heritage lifeways and we will have people demonstrating a number of skills such as spinning, weaving, apple cider making, and more. We have had a small taste of Spring in late February and early March, but we aren’t fooled. We know that we will likely have some more cold weather before Spring arrives; but arrive it will, and the Museum is celebrating the arrival of Spring. This year our Celebration will be a little different. We are welcoming the season with plant sales, live music, vendors, antique tractors, and the opportunity to meet some of the amazing gardeners in our area.…

Join us for our Memorial Day Concert as we welcome TWO wonderful groups, In Harmony and The Sheets Family Band, in the first of our Holiday Music on the Green concerts. All concerts are FREE and begin at 3:00 p.m. This is a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

Flag Day is June 14th -- what a perfect time to retire flags that have outlived their usefulness. Bring your old, tattered American flags to the Museum of Ashe County History so that they may be respectfully retired. Local Girl Scouts and Veterans will conduct a ceremony to retire American flags. The public is welcome to attend.

Local musical heroes Wayne Henderson and Herb Key will join us on July 8th with special guest Aubrianna Lovell for the second of our Music on the Green holiday concerts. Come out to the Museum to enjoy this showcase of local talent. Bring a chair, because we might not have enough!

Join us for our final Music on the Green Holiday Concert on September 2, Labor Day Weekend, as we welcome the Hardin Brothers & Friends as well as the Beckworth family featuring Josh, Sarah, and Lee Beckworth. We've put in our order for beautiful early Autumn Weather, so come on out and listen to some traditional favorites.

Join us as we welcome the ACHS Jazz Ensemble on Saturday, May 25th at 11:00 a.m. for some wonderful music. They will be followed by our local Mexican Dancers. The event is FREE and open to the public
