Featuring PATRIOTIC MUSIC by GENERATION EXCELLENT. All concerts begin at 2:00 pm on the Green next to the Old Courthouse Building. Bring a chair or a blanket and enjoy a beautiful afternoon of music at the Museum. The museum galleries will be open from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm on concert days. Civil War Reenactors – August 13th
The Civil War reenactors of the 26th and 37th Regiments of North Carolina Troops will present historically accurate dramatizations of life in a Civil War encampment, demonstrations of typical military actions and Civil War weaponry. All the action can be viewed and enjoyed on the grounds of the Ashe County Museum of History in Jefferson on August 13th beginning at 2:00 p.m. You won’t want to miss it.
Find out more »Will Banks Book Signing August 27 & 28
Join us on Saturday and Sunday as we welcome Gene Hafer, author of a new book about Will Banks. In 1906 Will Banks shot and killed Frank McMillen. He was tried and sentenced to hang. Hafer's book quotes newspapers from the time and looks at the cultural and political environment that led to Banks' hanging. Books will be available for purchase ($20.00 each including tax) and the author will gladly sign them.

Autumn Leaf Festival – October 1st
This year's Autumn Leaf Festival will be October 1st from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. This is a celebration of heritage lifeways and we will have people demonstrating a number of skills such as spinning, weaving, apple cider making, and more. Spring Opening Party – April 29, 2017
Join us at the Historic 1904 Ashe County Museum for the exciting opening of brand new exhibits including a World War I exhibit, a Vietnam War exhibit, and a Community exhibit. Fun for the entire family! Fleetwood Falls will be on stage at 10:00. At 11:00 there will be Memorial Program for WWI and Vietnam on the Courthouse Steps. Music on the Green Series – June 25, 2017
This week's featured performer is Sacred Ground. This free concert is presented by the Museum of Ashe County History. All Music on the Green Concerts start at 3pm. Concerts will be held on the Museum Green beside the old courthouse In case of rain, concerts will be held in the Fellowship Hall of Fletcher Memorial Baptist Church at 201 South Avenue, Jefferson.
